telcos, long distance rates and fiber: -
it looks like the perceived glut and lower prices that hit the pc market last year is now hitting long distance rates. First Sprint had Nickle night, now WCOM has 5 cent calling. can ATT be far behind. QWST already has 5 cent calling if you have the right plan. So LD calls will become even more of a commodity. There is a tremendous amount of fiber being laid, Williams Co, Sprint, LVLT, WCOM, GBLX, QWST, there will soon, if not already, be a glut of fiber capacity. that will mean more competition and lower rates. time to look elsewhere IMO larry
