Larry, I haven't seen details on convertibles but you probably can get information from SEC filings at edgar. I have only been tracking SFE part time since last fall so I no longer have a very accurate valuation of public holdings or shares. SFE used to be my largest holding, but I could not understand the internet valuations and its other holdings were doing poorly so I sold at the wrong time. If it continues recent drop, I may up date my information and consider repurchasing.
Also, note that this quarters earnings for sfe may be very poor due to market value of Tlab drop from June 30. SFE uses mark to market for Tlab. If Tlab increases in value, it increases earnings. It is my understanding that the Tlab market value increases have accounted for most of last 12 months of earnings for sfe. Tlab is now in a correction and unless it's price recovers before Sept 30 the price drop will cause a large loss instead of profit as it has been doing. This assumes sfe still owns Tlab and did not already sell its holdings this quarter.
Another, negative for current holders of sfe is the lack of faith the board has had in sfe price. In the past a run up to 125 would have caused a stock split. I think management has been concerned about the public value of SFE holdings vs sfe price.
Good luck to all in a very weak market,
Robert d.
