I saw Sanders on TV this morning and he looked tense and depressed to me. I had never seen him before, so maybe that is just the way he is.

Good luck to AMD. This industry really needs some competition.

<AMD doesn't need the DOJ nor FTC.>

That wasn't the same slogan several months back. It used to be "Intel charges usury prices" or "Intel Inside is bull---t, an excuse to give discounts to OEMs" or "That's what the FTC and the DOJ is supposed to prevent." Those are all quotes from Jerry "Intel will never drop prices" Sanders, back when he was talking like a sore loser and AMD was deep in the red.

<Now go on home!>

You really ought to come down from the clouds. Athlon-based PC's are still not going to be available until September 5th, and "tens of thousands" of Athlons entering the marketplace this quarter isn't going to make one dent in market share. (To be sure, one million in Q4, i.e. hitting store shelves in Q1, will be a start.)

Even the loser-turned-hero is saying that it will be a tough road penetrating the commercial market. You think with all of the hoopla, the flamboyant Jerry would be talking like AMD has already won the battle. (That's exactly how you're talking right now.) But in reality, even he realizes the tough hurdles that lies ahead.

In other words, "It's the volumes, stupid."
