DJ. George Soros Sold 340,000 Globalstar Telecom Common Shrs August 9, 1999 Dow Jones Newswires WASHINGTON (Dow Jones)-Quantum Partners sold a total of 340,000 Globalstar Telecommunications Ltd. (GSTRF) shares between July 26 and Aug. 4, according to a Form 4 released Monday by the Securities and Exchange Commission, Federal Filings Business News reported. Quantum Partners is the investment vehicle for George Soros and Soros Fund Management LLC. Soros sold the shares at prices ranging between approximately $23.42 per share and approximately $30.88 per share. After the transactions, Soros controlled 8.2 million Globalstar Telecommunications shares. The company is involved in building a low-earth orbit satellite-based digital telecom system.
