Tyranny is tyranny, whether imposed by a small community, or a huge state apparatus.

I don't know his work. I can't help but think, though, that it's easy to make a benign and vibrant "model." The people who created the Soviet Union, as a matter of fact, had, in their heads, benign and vibrant models. Before his colleague, Stalin, turned on Trotsky, a pamphlet of Trotsky's called A Paradise in This World had been a widely circulated, inspirational guide to the new society.

Of course he got bumped off by someone more powerful.
