SALN: hope nobody's holding this: First Call estimates of ($0.61) and actual of ($10.10)?!?! Is that for real? Even if $6-odd is a special dividend, if I read it right?

Salon.com (SALN: news, msgs) posted a wider-than-expected loss of $4.5 million, or $10.10 per share in the fiscal first quarter compared to a loss of $1.4 million, or $3.75 a share in the year-ago quarter. Analysts' estimates for the Internet media company came in at a loss of 61 cents a share, according to First Call. Revenue in the quarter jumped 146 percent to $1 million from $408,000 in the year-ago quarter and up 16 percent sequentially. The San Francisco-based company offers 10 Web sites and a cadre of online communities focusing on themes such as news, media, and health. Shares closed up 9/16 at 8 3/4, ahead of the report.
