ATEBA MINES INC. INVESTIGATING DIAMOND POTENTIAL OF NORONT RESOURCES PROPERTY IN NWT

ATEBA MINES INC. (ABM-ASE) and NORONT RESOURCES LTD. (NOT-VSE) are pleased to announce that crews have commenced till sampling to test for kimberlite at each of 17 circular magnetic anomalies on the property situated at Walmsley Lake, N.W.T. This property is situated in the new diamond province which is developing 100 km south of the Diamet/BHP Diamond Mine in the Lac deGras area. Mountain Province (MPV) has announced that DeBeers expects to proceed to feasibility study and Winspear has announced kimberlite tonnages at Snap Lake near MPV's west boundary. The Ateba/Noront property is located on MPV's east boundary. Previous till sampling identified kimberlite indicator minerals on the property. A subsequent airborne Magnetic and VLF-EM survey was carried out by Covello, Bryan. Interpretation of the results by Covello and Dr. George Wahl identified circular targets situated up-ice flow from chrome-diopside indicator minerals found in the till sampling.

Ateba is presently carrying out detailed till sampling adjacent to, and down-ice from the circular targets to determine whether these are kimberlite pipes. This work will fulfill Ateba's commitment to Noront to spend $250,000 on exploration to earn a 60% interest with Noront 40%.

Ateba is also actively engaged in its other endeavour namely the recovery of minerals from clay bearing rocks. Company staff are currently involved with phosphate producers in Florida to solve their clay problems and investigating the gold potential of the clay filled shale deposits of N.E. Alberta.
