The Sun concept is a part of the "java uber alles" movement. Unfortunately, there are no significant java-based productivity apps - corel abandoned their effort to do an office suite. Scott and Larry Ellison just won't give up on this, no matter how chilly the market reception. I predict this will be about as successful as the original NC, maybe less so. The thin client model which is selling is one which supports wintel applications in a relatively standard environment, and the price for those clients is approaching $200. They have all of the advantages of the Sun concept and none of the disadvantages.
