Addendum.
...and using them well and wisely. Like fire and blades and all the growing chain of technical prowess, we derive benefit and danger from our array of tools and skills. Getting the tools is an engineer's pursuit; developing the ethical envelope for using those tools necessarily engages all of society's members.
