Two things.. Oil and Too Many Dollars A. In order to win the Iraqui war we had agreements to drop oil to loss low prices. Now the Piper is being paid. B. Dollars flooded the world currency markets to help stabilize the Asian, S.American, and Russian crisis last year. Those dollars on a world scale, are inflationary and are why defending the dollar through higher rates realtive to the dollar are now the fight of the day. M2 used to be something Volker and other Feds watched carefully when dollars got ahead of underlying worth.. hint.
