Robert - I think that Richard is a little pessimistic to say the least! 20 year lows are so rare. Aand it hasn't been bottoming for 20 years either - there have been a few ups and downs over that period - though the overall trend has been down. Someone else asked for similar advice and it was suggested that for a start they look at the component stocks of the XAU index. Stocks rather than the metal I'd say. It's hard to recognise a bottom just as it was hard for you to know when the tide had turned for the internet stocks. You 'lost' 45% off the highs I mean - if you're wrong on gold you might be out by 5% - maybe a little more - but maybe now's the time to get your feet wet? d
