Last year, WINR went up about 400% from early August to late August. Is it time to be brave and buy? WINR went from about 40 cents in early August to $1.63 in late August.bigcharts.com WINR (Aug 1998) about 40 cents WINR (Late Aug) about 1-5/8 cents or so (up 400%) WINR (Dec 1998) $3.00 THE WHOLE MARKET IS STRANGE: Look how strange this market has been the last two days, no rhyme or reason. In my opinion those that tough it out and buy more, do much better than those that sell at these levels. August is tough but often full of opportunity. The big question is do you buy stocks during August when the MM's play, primarily because of low volume? HOW CRAZY IS IT? As an example, the MM's tanked MRPS down from $1.87 to $1.25 on only about 10,000 shares of selling (and about 3-5K of buying)! It rebounded to $1.68 at the close, but just to show how much the MM's are playing, MRPS is down from a high of 2-3/8 last week on a strong earnings report. In other words for a few minutes it was about half of where it was last week alone. Even after good news. Many stocks have been hit by this tactic like CAOL when they tanked it from 50 cents to 25 cents and then ran it to $1.25 a couple weeks later. Then there is SYCD, a stock I have liked a long time but with no real news at all the last couple days, it ran up from about 50 cents to $1.37 on huge volume. It's crazy! Many other stocks are getting hammered this month just like last year but most seemed to come back nicely in Sept and Oct from July and August lows, and then some really took off in Nov. and Dec. CSIN, CAOL, IHTL, SETO, GAAY and many other stocks are near or below 3 month lows. The brave will have faith and nibble away and buy. I bet you all have a list of stocks that you really like, but they are way down. Am I right? I advise that all go back and look at stock prices of soid companies last July or August before deciding anything. There is no saying that these stocks will rebound like last year, but the very best stocks like WINR should have a great chance of doing so.
