The idea is to let ATHM take the risk and then if it works, AOL will have the subs to enter substantially in any way appropriate. It's an ok strategy, but you have to take risks to succeed to a great degree. Does AOL need to do that? I don't think so. They don't think so. You don't need to vanquish to do well. AOL has a full plate and much to digest. You don't see the rising cost to support all those subs. I'm not talking about system maintenance. I'm talking about the complex issues of software generation. coordination of divisions, expenditures to address the need to grow and compete, new technologies management like scaling DSL without it financially breaking you. DSL is a good intermediate solution which will last some years and AOL has to learn how to make it pay. That is difficult. You guys have to stop thinking in terms of board game machinations and the core of business. That's Hollywood.
