I think using this analogy I would call the store owner, the current customers and future customers all clientele of the camera. Maybe thats the disconnect in this discussion... to me the SI site serves many masters. The most important ones are the users but the R&D people are also important... not while the site is working maybe but wait until it breaks.

A car is probably a better analogy than a camera. Sometimes it makes sense to buy a new car because it is a design improvement, it will cost less to maintain etc.

BTW it is obvious to me that plenty of people don't like the new SI and thats fine, I think we may have gotten a little off track, my initial criticism was that calling it a "complete fiasco" was a bit much. Fwiw in the technical world I would call the shenanigans going on at ebay a "complete fiasco". This is where no one can log on, the CEO is saying ebay is up when the site is not up, people are leaving to do their auctions at Amazon (the competition), and this is the third time this has happened in a month. THAT is a complete fiasco.
