Mac, sorry to hear your health is failing. Seriously, though, I'll take that bet. Let's make a note to chat after the first quarter of the new year. I've got you diaried.

<< Sorry, but AOL will not see $150 again in our lifetimes. >>

As much as I believe that AOL is overvalued by rational means, I would not be willing to make that statement.....

Good Afternoon Mac

I would not say that AOL will not reach 150 again but there certainly is much beating at the door. I would not want to under estimate the competition now present.

I wrote the following discussing the fear of higher interest rates by the Fed a few
weeks back and it seems to me that it is the only problem that is banging the markets
down. It will take Mr, Greenspan himself saying something to stop the continuous
fall. Yes he may be a little ticked off that people trashed his credibility when creating
his infamous phrase. "Irrational Exhuberence". Now he may feel that he has gotten
a little revenge and may turn the tide after August 24.

we are in some real serious trouble thanks to the threat that the Federal Reserve chairman has made of higher interest rates. The market is not about to turn on a dime but the sell off may intensify to the point where we may witness a debacle comparable to the 1987 crash. I do not see anything stopping it at this point. The internet stocks including AOL may give up all its gain for the past year or more.<<

PS I do not think that we will have a crash but a pull back of around 15% or greater.

OT-- You make disparaging comments about Tennessee when you hail from Washington, DC ! Come now! That's a very large glass house that you live in yourself. BTW you would think a JD from Yale could spell Tennessee correctly. (Don't get bent out of shape over these comments--this is all in jest.)

Regards,

RB

re:Tenneseans

Are you sure you went to Yale?

re: Sorry, but AOL will not see $150 again in our lifetimes.

Only a fool would make that statement!
