In this agree with you, but I think that many people use the words "desire" and "lust" interchangeably, without realizing the difference--just as they fail to draw the distinction between "jealous" and "envious."

Also, keep in mind that it may be a sudden surge of lust that inspires two people to talk and to discover that there is far more than sexual attraction between them. As long as any hunger is kept in check by reason, it can lead to great understanding and, possibly, virtue.
