HLTH imploded very quickly (I was expecting levels below $30 but not so soon). I have held this short position for some months (some of my shares even got called in by the brokerage firm).

What do you look for to find best lockup shorts?

Total disconnect between the market price and reality (UBID at 100+ is a good example).

I prefer to see a large # of locked up shares (the IPO float should be a very small %). These lock-up shares should preferably be held by several VCs, insiders, etc. If they are held by only 1-2 people, it will be easier for them to plan an exit strategy.

Shorting around the lockup period can be dangerous at times. The underwriters may attempt to hold up the price (the insiders often route their sell orders through these firms). Companies can issue some press releases hyping "alliances" during this period. Some companies announce a split (example TGLO).

Regards,
Rajiv
