Suppose you are a second tier boxmaker or looking to make a name for yourself. You have been getting you butt kicked by the likes of DELL, Gateway, other more established names. Hard to crack their markets, name. You contract with a motherboard maker and with AMD for the Athlon, some now and a guarantee later and go for it. Otherwise, you go no where.
Perhaps the next E-machines emerges, only at the high end.

CPQ usually misses its quarter with or without AMD's help..........so what's the big deal?
