"Leverage INTRAllectual Capital

ALife-KnowledgeManager is an ALife smart
bot that will inhabit a corporate Intranet,
automatically indexing the contents of
industry-standard information repositories.
fileservers, Web servers, messaging servers and
document databases. As an advanced,
autonomous bot powered by the
ALife-SmartEngine, it will literally know its way
around the corporate resource space. Using
ALife's exclusive SmartIndexing module,
KnowledgeManager will apply cutting-edge
document analysis techniques and
discourse management technology to build sophisticated indexes of
metadata about people, documents and other information stored in an
Intranet.

If granted permission by individuals, ALife-KnowledgeManager can scan
individual users' documents and/or messages, running as an unobtrusive
background task on servers or workstations, to learn about the work
individual employees do and the areas they focus on. Then, when
KnowledgeManager locates information that it thinks someone might want
to know about, it will take the initiative and make contact.

Users of a KnowledgeManager-powered enterprise will be able to type or
even speak (depending on selected plug-in technologies and corporate
preferences) to an animated character, which itself will display its
responses or speak. (If customer requirements dictate, the interface can
be simplified to a simple set of text boxes.) In all cases, interaction is in
natural language. Users will not have to learn to use yet another
application, or learn how to write complex Boolean queries. Their
conversations with their company. s ALife-KnowledgeManager will be an
integrated, normal part of a working day. just like talking to human
co-workers! Now each person in the company can have a virtual
colleague and mentor, guiding him or her through the Intranet.

ALife-KnowledgeManager will use every instance of interaction with
users to glean more information. It will autonomously maintain
expertise and security clearance profiles of the employees in a company.
An administrator or executive will be able to view and edit these profiles.
A typical user will gain the benefit of the smart bot. s unique perspective,
because KnowledgeManager. s ability to make suggestions. colleagues
that he or she might want to talk to and documents he or she might want
to read. will be constantly refined based on evaluation of the user. s
satisfaction.

A user profile will contain information about the user's business role,
knowledge use preferences, collaborative history, contributed
knowledge, and security clearances or restrictions. The profile will be
editable by the user using a configuration control panel, and will also be
dynamically adjusted by the bot based on discourse analysis of
conversations between the bot and the user.

Expertise profiles will allow the KnowledgeManager to refer employees to
one another, by matching knowledge needs with existing expertise.

Using ALife-KnowledgeManager, companies will be able to leverage the
intellectual capital stored in their Intranets. by leading people to the
documents and other people that they need more quickly.
ALife-KnowledgeManager is an enormous leap beyond passive search
engines and supposedly "dynamic" portals, because it tirelessly makes
the connections and associations that. until now. only human knowledge
managers have been able to make.

SmartEngines, SmartSearches.....

>>I think this company could do alot for digitalme and what you envision. They have a download of something called Personal WebGuide. It's rather interesting, you ask natural language questions and it searches.

This one is something I'd like to use at work:

The ALife-SalesRep is being developed for e-commerce retailers to use for direct marketing on the Internet. Retailers will specify user profile and product information in this smart bot's knowledge base, which will be used by the SmartEngine to intelligently deliver customer-specific, targeted sales information via the Internet. This product will have a very advanced bot-based intelligent user interface.>>

There is a "missing link" in ALife's model.

I won't go into it here, but DigitalMe CAN be used to make ALife's model "go higher".

But there's still that "missing link".

Anyone crazy like me thinking along these lines?

GO!!
