Chinchaga Project Update - Significant Progress on Diamond Project

August 11, 1999 -- Marum Resources Inc. reports on the status of the
Chinchaga project. Marum is the operator of the International Tower
Hill/Marum and Micrex/Marum joint ventures and explores its 100% owned
properties in the Chinchaga area of northwestern Alberta.

Metals Project Update
A study of archived oil well cuttings at the Alberta Energy and Utilities
Board Core Research Centre in Calgary confirms the presence of sulphide
minerals in several regionally distributed wells at the exact stratigraphic
level defined by the International Tower Hill/Marum drill program in
February, 1999. The mineralization is again confirmed as being regional and
has an estimated vertical or stratigraphic range of up to 200 metres,
extending over an area measuring 160Km by 60Km.

Diamond Project Update
A regional satellite and air-photo structural study has been completed and
has successfully isolated a number of large-scale expansion fault systems for
detailed exploration. Both vertical pipe-like and horizontal stratigraphic
targets have been identified along these faults using data stacking
techniques.

One drill hole sample set split is currently under evaluation for diamond and
indicators. The hole was recently drilled on the International Tower
Hill/Marum joint venture property. The sample analysis undertaken so far is
preliminary, involving only selected minerals and rock fragments from
unconcentrated samples. Only a few thin sections have as yet been prepared
and submitted for petrographic analysis. Nevertheless, the results to date
are considered to be technically important. One rock type consists of
perfectly preserved dark-green igneous rock, totally unaltered, which, based
on grain size, represents a sub-volcanic feeder pipe crystallization
environment. The dominant minerals identified so far in the rock are
pyroxenes. The rock is tentatively identified as gabbro or pyroxenite,
contains abundant chromite and is considered to be a possible diamond carrier
magma. A second, equally significant, rock type is identified as volcanic
sandstone or, alternatively, sandy tuff. This rock consists of medium-grained
angular quartz and feldspar crystals set in an unusual matrix. The sandy tuff
contains clumps of micaceous minerals and chromites. The composition and
texture of the sandy tuff is considered to be consistent with a diamond
carrier magma origin, although being formed by volcanic ejection into air or
water it would show dilution of the primary igneous rock composition.

This discovery of primary crystalline igneous rock in the Chinchaga project
forms part of a new diamond exploration thrust developed from the Chinchaga
winter drill program data. This strategy is based on the exploration of
primarily north-south expansion faults in the structurally dense Chinchaga
area, modified by their relationship with a second set of expansion faults
and a tightly packed third set of compression faults. The newly identified
diamond carrier magma candidates are located near a major expansion fault
that contains an adjacent elliptical feature. This feature, and others, will
be sampled as part of an exploration program scheduled to start immediately.

Jesse: First there is your post about an expected NR. This brings goosebumps. Then there is the posting of the release. This is quite positive about the potentials of the area. Then there is Chuca's touting of another property, and aj's snide comment.

But the stock holds.

It seems that often, in the past, a favorable NR is met with a drop in market price. This did NOT happen this time. Does that mean there is hope? Lordy, if I had the bucks, I would pick up a couple of humdered thousand shares at this price.

Question: Can the market, and can the venture partners, be unimpressed with the sort of information that Indiana is letting us see? It seems so, doesn't it? George
