No biggie. Clearly VIA's Athlon chipset is using AMD's Irongate as a design reference. The additional features it brings to the Athlon platform (ATA-66, AGP-4x, PC133 SDRAM) isn't going to make a significant difference in its performance.

I'm more interested in Athlon chipsets that will either support DRDRAM, or support greater than 2-way multiprocessing. Have you seen the architecture of the HotRail 8-way Athlon chipset? Pretty scalable stuff, even though it's going to be a rather difficult and costly platform to produce.
