I'm sure we'll see real numbers when Camino is released and systems are running under RDRAM-800. We'll just have to wait and see. I know AMD is doing just that, waiting and seeing.

He may have a point, but no one has explained to me why industry support hasn't materialized for ESDRAM. Surely its promise of lower latency makes it much more attractive for the "anti-Rambus coalition" than DDR SDRAM. That's why I suspect there's more to the story than even Scumbria knows.
