Have you considered that there may never be any resolution? No deals made. No Excite sold. No AOL. Nothing.

Yes, Eric, I have considered it and believe failure to resolve the issues is the least likely scenario. While Armstrong/Jermolak/Bell/Case have significant egos, none of them is willing to risk their respective companies over it. The reason we are in this predicament is that each of them recognizes that Broad Band cable is the future. They want BB cable and they need it; it is their future. IMO, some satisfactory compromise will be reached that incorporates significant face-saving mechanisms such that all of the respective CEO's can claim victory, the FCC will bless the relationship, ATHM will be a content/high speed provider and the shareholders will enjoy significant upside. There is simply too much at stake for this not to happen. I am so convinced of the outcome I have been adding steadily to my position at these levels and believe that, even if more downside occurs here, in 24 months we will look back at todays stock price and wish we had all bought more. JMO of course.

Eric, I think ATHM will have a long consolidation phase, if not drop further. Most likely there won't be any news. Despite the difference in strategy, why would ATT force ATHM to spin off Excite. No, Armstrong won't see the urgent need to do that. So ATHM will keep signing on new subs. So we may not see a runup until sometime next year when the sub increase finally prove impressive and they for the first time get into the black.
