Assume it isn't. The formula can be made more complex to absorb what clever can do. It all fits under the curve, and the expectation is negative. If you'll remember expectation is the integral with a suitable outcomes measure. That covers all the infinite possibilities.

The only way around this a priori reality is to hold. It practically doesn't matter what you hold. Some will do better than others. That can't be controlled by the intellect.
