But market makers aren't trading. They make a market. They don't trade. Trading means to guess where price is going. Market makers don't do that. They only get on the other side of the public action. And so they get the complement of the traders negative expected return which is positive. You spent all that time trying to learn what a market maker does and still you don't know. Failure again to assimilate.
