They still use the K6-2.

In fact, the K6-2 is the only available processor in their all-in-one PC, the Profile - gateway.com

Too bad the Athlon has lost Gateway. It would have been nice to see a 600MHz Athlon system for sale one click away from a 600MHz PIII system.

Not using the Athlon probably also saves Gateway money in another way. They don't have to come up with a new model of PCs.
