Comment #2 - This is not a trivial task, so we'd appreciate a little patience. I don't have exact date yet, so I won't promise one. But...we won't take down the old SI until this customization option is up and running.

Bryan, could you also commit to keeping the old SI around until the new one is just as fast as the old?

Bryan, I would be glad to help as a "Guardian of the Classic SI". Just give me a holler when your team is ready.

Michael

So much for the business idea in my profile. Yes, I volunteer!

Bryan, I would be happy to serve on your "team." :-) But I do have one urgent request. Please include on the team a representative of the BrowseMaster "forces": Craig Richards, or Eric L., or CatLady, or anyone else you think appropriate. As you know, the BrowseMaster users continue to stick with the Classic site because BrowseMaster only works there. I would like to be sure they can still employ it with ease if Classic is "reconstituted" on the new site.

What concerns me is the following sentence in your message:

We won't be able to 100%, exactly, totally, completely match the
old SI, i.e. some features don't exist or just don't work the same way with the new infrastructure.

What features don't exist? And what does "interface" mean in this context? The "look"? The "look" won't mean much if key "features" are missing.

Joan

Bryan,
PMJI, but the reason many of us want the old SI is because of BrowseMaster.

SI life ain't worth living without BrowseMaster. I can assure that BM keeps me on SI twice as long and that I read 5 times as many posts because of BM.

Eric L. wanted me to drop by to offer my services in whatever way I can. I love SI and BM makes SI truly awesome.

I hate that you are fixing something that ain't broke, but I am an old IT guy and understand how these things go.

The Guardians of the Classic SI are ready to serve. Is the deal still on Bryan?

Since we are bestowed with this honor, do we get a title behind our names? How about SIG, or CSIG?

mr mark (SIG)

Rinse.Lather.Repeat (SIG)

Cheeky Kid (SIG)

etc....

Bryan -- could you give me stats or are they posted elsewhere on how many are using the new versus the old?

TIA
Tippet
