In fairness to mark and SystemWorks:

I have not tried the software myself -- for several reasons. Main one is that I'm somewhat of a purist and would like to see how my OS runs without any interference. I feel I can learn more that way -- which may or may not be true.

Second, is I get cross-eyed reading the descriptions of the different parts of the suite. I can't figure out what they're talking about and my interest wanes.

Third is their track-record with version 1. How can you trust a company that put their product on the market before it was even effective?

How you use your computer and the extent and type of your experience with computers determines your taste in this kind of application. I like DI but it's not for everybody. PW (who is no computer slouch) and mark like SystemWorks. Richard and The Cow (excuse the spelling) don't. I'm not inclined to try it but if the price is right one day curiosity may win out.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Netscape plays a role here in the way that it makes Windows unstable and creates the need for something like SW. That's just an uninformed hunch though.

I felt empowered when I learned how to wipe my disk and install clean. As your installed load increases this becomes more cumbersome. DI helps here but it can still be a few hours to get back to speed. I like and respect mark and no longer believe that he is a tout for the company <g>. After one uses an application for a long time and becomes very familiar with it you get to like it. I like Windows. I like DI. Maybe it's similar to battered wife syndrome?

Cheers to All,
