-OT- I'm sure you're right Smart$. I don't have kids but I read in the paper about a local school district asking for a boost in funds to cover the costs of this years' 4 new must-have educational tools: photo machines to makes student i.d. badges, mandatory drug tests for all athletes, metal detectors for use in spotting guns, and breathalyzer kits for use in spotting drunken middle schoolers. If and when I have children, it's computers and tutors for them after public kindergarten and first grade. Who wants them to be socialized by a school system? I'd rather home school. I'm not sure how the internet can threaten other functions of "the state" yet, but there must be ways...
