<< Why is Q down at the open, while so many are up? Any ideas?>>

Many sitting on large gains from the huge run-up held as the Q hit 160's, then dwindled down to current levels. They are nervous, nervous, nervous about future erosion of their unrealized gains and, for some, the tension is just too much to hang in there. They are jumping on todays blip of strength to bail. Odds in the short term seem to favor downside vs. upside, so some will try to time and reenter with various degrees of success. Hasn't ever worked very well for me, FWIW. All the FUD should create excellent purchase opportunities for those with patience and a longer term vision. JMO. I could be all wrong, of course, but you asked for any ideas.

Best.

DS -

Its all a part of the August effect. Some shorts probably decided to have a go this morning and in light volume with the buyers on the beaches the stock gives way a few points.

With the buyers away,
The shorts will play.

One day soon the buyers will be back after the holidays and then the shorts will have less incentive to take positions.

Best regards,

L
