Why does Batra think this is a nightmare?

Then in 1989 we had the fall of the Berlin Wall, which signified the global demise of communism.

And now, in 1999, another nightmare is about to occur.

Ever notice that each year has major events? Duh !

It seems to me that the only coincidence is that people like to find relationships between unrelated events.
Patterns exist, of course but their predictability is another matter altogether.

Do the charts say the market is going down? Between 2 & 4pm yesterday, net stocks were flying. Many gapped open this morning. Now they are down; maybe in a few hours they will be back up. What does that tell you? It tells me nothing.

What makes fortune telling and doomsday profits so fascinating, I don't get it?

Any offers regarding the impending "nightmare"?

yes, more innocent trees will die so Ravi Batra can publish another inane book. Is this the third or fourth great depression he's predicting? I'm still waiting for the Great Depression of 1990. I have that book sitting right next to Erdman's The Panic of 89.
