There really is nothing wrong with being out of the market for a while. That is money management. A lot of people aren't comfortable going short or buying puts and with the market on defense the best thing to do is nothing. If you have long term positions talk to your broker or yourself about covering them if they breakdown but if in cash, just take it easy. Watch Oprah or finish all of those pesky projects that were put on hold whilst you were making money in the market. Mow the lawn, pet the dog, find a beach somewhere that is in desperate need of having you lay on it. :-)
