Please reread my post.

I was not referring to a global shortage of Bauxite, but rather the consequences of seeing US processors prevented from obtaining adequate supplies of it due to political upheaval in producer nations like Jamaica or Venezuela.

That is an excellent way of looking at Al.

There are a number of sources of bauxite Guinea is one that comes to mind), but they don't bild the smelters in Guinea or Jamiaca - they build them near the electricity source.
