Xy, re >>Is this SEMI booking what the ANALyst talking about?<<

I wish I knew. If it is, he's been sloppy.
We all know that SEMI numbers will be revised
and are frozen only after two possible revisions.
According to your chart, there have been slight
pullbacks in bookings in previous cycles as well.

Must be - that's the only bookings slowdown I've heard of. If so, I think they're over-reacting. With the continued strength in end-user demand, as well as the numerous news items about fabs running at full capacity, it's certainly hard to see how the slight drop in June's number could be anything other than temporary, and considering that it was a preliminary number, it may even turn out not to be real. Also, I note that in the graph you linked, there were two similar kinks in the curve before it went on to the last peak, and this time we don't have an Asian melt-down to contend with.

In the interests of full disclosure, I should mention that I have cut back my equity holdings to about 50% of my portfolio. However, it's not due to any expectations of weakness in the semiconductor equipment industry. It's just that my personal circumstances dictate a lower risk profile than what I used to have.
