Harry, I don't understand the appeal in some of these growth-less semis myself so you are better off talking to somebody who is bullish on the sector even at these prices.

Yet, I think they will stay up until early part of next year when YoY comparison becomes more difficult and forward looking statements get less bullish.

Hi Harry,

I just went short today on NSM at 26 1/2 today. It is pegging out (2 sds) on a 4 day MA. I could have waited NSM, for it is now in its 99th percentile. Hopefully, it will swing down.

I was testing my program at work today; it had a few parsing errors but was fixed quickly. It is still awkward to use. Last weekend I went in to MCI to help with a project I left, so I had less time to work on my program. This weekend I'll work on it some more.

Over-all performance is not too bad. It updates 1000 stocks at the current price (20 min delayed) in 10 seconds, calculating relative stats. I am on T1 line at work.

NSM came across at 10 o'clock (even better later) as a good entry for a short.

My strategy is to use the program for three-day swing trading, exploiting the intra-day volatility, scalping a few percentage points here and there.

I am just starting the user guide for the program.

Cheers
Lachesis

Hi Harry,

How is your UNIX or shall I say LINUX. RHAT and MGIC are stocks to keep a close eye on. Both are in the Anti-Microsoft camp.

Do you know of any other companies that are big supporters of LINUX? If we can build up an index (Linex) to follow, I think its out look would be bright.

Harry,

I wrote this to you several weeks ago,

"I am looking at some of the semi equipment and chip makers again. Some of them look
very, very good, including cymi. From 3- year chart, some look like cup and handle
(now forming the handle parts). Some look like inverted H & S.

Just don't know if they can make any big run when the market is taking a breath"

I go back to the weekly chart again, and found out that if semis are having a run like '97, they won't stop until fall.

I did't expect my intc to break its neckline~72 so soon. Now looks like it's going to 90+ sooner than I thought. Though volume hasn't been too great.

What do you think?

PS: If semis continues rally, then Qcom might break its new high too? What do you think? Are you in Qcom?
