Hans, You are too kind. Man has proven he is only as limited as his dreams. I like the image in the third box, left hand side. oposite.stsci.edu

Hansi, you're Our Rocket Scientist In Residence and glad that you're around (especially next time we try for a Liftoff!). Stocks are a pedestrian activity put next to what you work with, but they both involve hopes and dreams. So these Star Pictures and Rocket Talk fits in real well on Techride, glad you like it.
Since I was a child, I'd say I spend about a half hour every day looking up at the sky whenever there's an opportunity. Probably about average. Noticed that the sky on the periphery of where I stare at is clearer than straight-on... so many times I can see a color or a shape or a movement in or around a diamond of light that way which will go away when I look at it straight on...unless I look at it close by taking a piece of black paper and roll it up to make a little telescope... that can really bring some interesting luminaries into sharp focus and seeming magnification particularly the Rings Of Saturn, the Pleiades, stars like Arcturus & Orion, and the Planets. When all those planets were lined up in a row at the horizon a couple months back, looking thru a black tube brought the differences and some beautiful details of them into focus pretty well. I've never felt Insignificant looking up at the twinkling night sky especially from my own backyard...on the contrary, I say to myself "This Is Mine" and "This Is Me", and smile.
NASA's got A Huge Fan Club, for sure.

Joan

In case anyone (other than on this board of course) was wondering about the contribution of women to space flight...
