Why do you think you would wreck your standing with me, when I get exactly what I expect and appreciate from you -- a well researched and well reasoned post?

But that is no justification for branding your critics as "puritans," would-be
"censors," and "philistines," or for attributing their supposed inability to "fight fair" to
their sex (female).

Agreed. I'm sorry. Those remarks should have been limited to only those to whom they properly applied, not broadcast as they were.

I for one got the distinct impression that you were doing your best -- cyberwise, of course <gg> -- to get as close as you could to some intimate areas.

In a very discreet and sensitive way, perhaps. <g> But you will notice that I used NO words which referred directly to ANY intimate parts of the female anatomy. Perhaps it was because my far more explicit and far more, I hope, sensual posts on Beltane not only did not meet with any protests, but met with considerable approval and cyber-applause by many of the same people who are here, that I was stunned by the negative response to something far more innocent.

It was certainly not my intent to discomfort anybody, and I'm sorry it did so. And while it would be easy to say I'm sorry for doing it, frankly I'm not, and I think the response has been a vast overreaction to innocent fun, of which there is little enough in this world that we should celebrate and appreciate it when it comes even if we don't personally share in it or see it as fun for us.

Otherwise, I say: Enough already!

And you will notice that I did not go further than where I was in the post you quoted. (Even though it's getting mighty boring staring at these knees for hour after hour going nowhere! <bg>)

I hope with all my heart that this is already dead stuff, but with fairness to Chris, the comment about the humus referred to my love of gardening, about which he knows because we have talked about the difficulties associated with growing "heirloom" varieties of tomatoes and other "exotic" foods.
