I agree all around...

This would have been my approach...

restructure and make margin improvements in commodity areas like what they said about apd cryogenics eliminating non performing product lines etc...

Then evaluate high growth products/markets...
maybe eliminate 60-65% of these

IMIG MRI
Food Processing
Kryotech
Frigc
pre coolers
Maglev

reduce this group
to one or two and define that market just like they did with the restructuring/margins...

Because like you say no one will get in without a high growth effort...

Brainstorm Frigc see if there is any way to salvage or redirect this into a growth market...

or like I said before about chip cooling for computers
pick a high tech company which builds servers for a technical market...

etc...with other products...

streamlining nothing leaves a very fit well put together
nothing market...

a really fit zero...

part of leadership is definition and then followthrough...

Mark...
was definately looking for a hook to get back in...
won't bother you guys too much...
but after listening to conference call
my read is that they are placing their faith in kryotech only (simply because they didn't mention it in the beginning and when pressed they said that it was more than a financial investment to them)

electric utility products described as 3-5 years out and if I remember correctly that was the exact number given 3 years ago...

simply streamling a magnet business won't do it for me...

And going to kryotech website doesn't look like they are in any hurry to develop anything colder than -40 degrees...

If you remember IBM had a working product 2 years ago with IMG...

then 2-3 years ago they signed with kryotech and initial conference calls said a product should have already been out by now...

Why they don't just get a computer guy on their staff and build their own prototype is beyond me...especially since they have already had a working product with IBM...

well won't bug you anymore...but there just isn't any real reason to get interested in the stock...

later.
