gpowell,

the possibility of AOL's selling its ISP business.

This is yet another piece of garbage after whole series of nonsense that drove down T and ATHM price. One typical case of analyst who does not understanding AOL business model and foggy about what ATHM is doing, not even mentioning what cable open access really means. Hundreds and thousands of analytical pages on AOL based on the assumption of "King of The Internet", while I don't question whether "King" is true or not, I do think the Internet is a spelling error of Extranet (if not IntRAnet) instead. It's like a 2000-page book titled "Earth Sciences", on the very first sentence of the very first page reads "Earth is a cube!" - want to read on?

"AOL's selling its ISP business to T" 150% means the headline news next morning... "AT&T merge with AOL valued $176 billions!" AOL has no physical hardware equipment as far as ISP goes, they have sold it awhile ago. I thought it was a marvelous idea back then. What I didn't think of is that move eventually made itself weaker in cable open access compared with pure ISPs such as MindSpring and EarthLink.

Sell AOL ISP means sell Steve Case, his secretary and every toilet in AOL buildings.
