No no- don't get me as a basher!!That too. I'm in.
I'm just also a fan of the OS.
Think of it- a free os, that has been tested
and doesn't crash when for weeks running consistantly

this from RB:(not me)
A lot of people are missing the performance gain aspect.

What a lot of people are not realizing is that Linux can
really kick butt in performance applications that require
heavy math calculations. Windows is slow and a resource
hog, not to mention crash happy. I have done some
research and seems that Linux running on a 386 can out
perform Win95, 98 & NT on a Pentium system by almost
200% when heavy processing is involved. The best
example I can give is the SETI At Home screen saver
program that breaks down and analizes radio telescope
data for the SETI project. If you want to see the
processing time comparisons then just go to
setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu

It's all the final convincing I needed. Well not exactly. I
have Redhat Linux 5.2 running on an Intel 486Dx2 with
24m of ram and WIN95 on an Intel Pentium 233Mhz with
128m of ram. Both systems are running the SETI at Home
program. The 486 running Linux manages to complete just
better than 3 work units to every one on the Windows
setup.
