I wasn't aware there'd been such a kafuffle with Josef, nor that he had left. After catching up on my reading, now I know. He was a good soldier. :) For those who aren't aware (most people seem rather too aware around here :) ) - the History of SI thread is at techstocks.com I guess I did remember his name right, anyway.

Not yet a Netrillionaire...but working on it! Thanks, GNET! My GNET story...Fall 1997.. a good friend and I talked about the research possibilities that were opening for professional topics, and genealogy research on the net...And while she was at it, she mentioned GNET as the company that owned Metacrawler.... As any of you who have read my posts know, I think Metacrawler is just the most amazing tool for knowledge....on ANYTHING your mind can conceive. Then using the GNET page, began to realize just how powerful SI also was, not only to research companies and stocks, but also to participate in what I call 'collective thought'....First time ever for me to make a stock purchase on my own, but I did....and didn't even mention it for 3 months....Then, when I did, had a discussion about "capital gains"....20% tax sounded better than 40%, so stayed....AND NOW, I don't think I will sell....Did buy more to possibly trade with, but even then I'm not sure. I truly believe this stock is the cornerstone for my retirement...Mr. Russell, Mr. John and Company, including Mr. PA seem to be doing things for all the "right reasons"..... 909's to all of you, KLP #40

Hey...I ditto the story thing... Someone could make a movie out of it...(of course you'd have to spice it up a little)... Hey...that's a great idea...in about fifteen years we can have Hollywood produce a move of GNET and the faithful 100 (Kind of like the PA and Bill Gates story they showed on TV a few weeks ago). Oh well, just a thought P.S. (Saw what someone wrote about you on the other thread...guess that writer doesn't know the first thing about you...take care and good night) P.S.S.
