Let me say: WIN-TEL - when you get sucked in, at least for now, it's hard to go elsewhere.
Example: I bought an AMD 350 cpu and motherboard, because it was 60% cheaper than a comparable INTC, and faster.
The PROBLEM is, i then went looking for hardware to go with it, and *MOST* of it isn't certified to work with AMD, so i was screwed. I was looking at DVD-CD ROMs, Burners, CD-RW's, some videocards, most of what *I* wanted specified INTC, with no mention towards being AMD compliant. INTC does not equate to AMD in this area, and i am now told WIN95 is not certified to run on an AMD, BUT I HAVE NOT CHECKED THAT OUT FOR MYSELF SO DON'T YELL AT ME.
So, when you have a business, regardless of size, you do pretty much stay with what you know - INTC and WIN, no matter how much you may not like to, and people pretty much have at home what they have at work.
I don't think it's debatable about this being the greatest medium, because we can DD all we want, look in all the books and filings we want, and THEN we can go ask somebody out of the blue 'did you read the paragraph on page 6 ?' of something, and you can all compare notes, etc.
Just like i asked here what attracted people to FNTN and what keeps them here, i got all the answers i expected, and a couple i didn't even think of.
