Hi Fred,

Thanks so much for your good info. It's meaningful to me that although you have been using OT for quite some time, you still like it. Yesterday, I read all the posts on this thread and I found yours to be among the most objective, articulate, and complete.

I'm fairly new to individual stock selection and trading. I'm also looking at Technifilter Plus. TF+ is a more complex program than OT and includes more tools (Including P&F). I have to determine, at my stage of development, which one will work best for me in the long run.

On the one hand, I think I could jump right into OT and, along with TC2000, do fairly well with my initial limited goals. On the other hand, after a year or so, I might be happier with TF+ as I learn, use and get more comfortable with its greater capabilities. I never want to forget that the primary reason I would buy either software is to make money and, keeping that in mind, the simpler approach with OT may be better for me, personally.

Thanks again for your good comments.
Skipperr

Hehe. That colon in the web address really through my browser for a loop! Took about 30 seconds to realize what was happening, since it brought up an IBM website instead. (I'm behind a firewall at IBM right now.)

I am new to OT. I can't figure out the directions for making a profile of one system and adding to master profile. Actually I am not sure what the master profile is. In the tips section at startup they suggest :
make a profile of one system and add to master system by going to system test, turn off all but one system and check force and test for that system do not check optimization.(OK I tried that without any problems)
Then go to signal generator put advisors at 0 turn off optimization. It is suggested to do this I assume separately, for MAC-M, GAP-P, CHA-P, AND MFR-D. I MUST BE MISSING SOMETHING VERY OBVIOUS. How do I save out these various separate tests and apply them in concert to my stocks? Also does changing settings in the system test or signal generator change these settings for all occurrences such as Ed's magic stocks short term aggressive etc..
