The offers were made pursuant to the governing agreements of the Dresser-Rand joint venture (D-R) and the Ingersoll-Dresser Pump joint venture (IDP). Currently Dresser owns 51% of D-R and 49% of IDP. Ingersoll-Rand owns 49% of D-R and 51% of IDP. and Elf Angola awards Halliburton contract for sand control, completion services August 13, 1999 Halliburton Energy Services has been awarded a contract by Elf Exploration Angola to provide sand control and completion services for its deepwater Girassol oil field located on Block 17 offshore Angola. In the Block 17, within the scope of a production sharing agreement, SONANGOL (Sociedade National de Combustiveis de Angola) is the concessionary and Elf Exploration Angola is the operator. Valued at US $30 million, the contract marks the first deepwater development field in West Africa to use sand control as a key technology to enable economic development of the field. Also: Marathon Oil Co. has announced a gas discovery on its Camden Hills prospect, which is located in the Gulf of Mexico on Mississippi Canyon Block 348. The Mississippi Canyon Block 348 #1 Well was drilled to a depth of 15,080 feet and encountered over 200 feet of gas pay. Marathon is the operator and has a 50.03% working interest in this block along with WI, Inc. (33.3% working interest) and TOTAL Exploration Production USA, Inc. (16.67% working interest). Marathon acquired this lease at OCS Sale 169, in 1998, and is located in 7200 feet of water about 140 miles southeast of New Orleans, Louisiana.
