Richard, I understand...I know you are just posting all items of interest. I guess my posts are showing my amazement at anyone who thinks that Intel will not react with every weapon in their arsenal to this upstart incursion onto their turf. Frankly, all the hype about Athlon just makes me smile. AMD hasn't produced a quality product on time, in volume, ever. Jerry Sanders (I'm ashamed to share almost the same last name) heads an organization which has been the masters of hype, but their track record is dismal. Now, we are led to believe that this tower of failed promises will produce the fastest, nimblest microprocessor with this great 200 megahertz front end bus,and that you can plug it into this great chipset from this small outfit on Taiwan, which is trying to merge two (or is it three) corporate cultures while it fights off licensing infringement litigation in U.S. Federal Court from a company which knows how to fight to win, and always has. Also, unlike Microsoft, Intel knows when to deal with the government and how to pick its battles.

A year from now I think we are all going to be saying "remember VIA...gee, whatever happened to that product line they were going to take the low end market by storm with"?

O.K., O.K., I'm done venting.
