It's all in the thread header my friend. Even a great stock like CSCO is not a sure thing on any given day. I am one of the most honest and forthright people who post here at Silicon Investor. Am I perfect? No Do I hope to make money on my investments? Yes Have I ever pumped and dumped a stock? Never Do I have a good sense of humor? I sure hope so!!! As far as this thread goes here is everything anyone needs to know including a disclaimer:

EXPANDED WIRE TO WIRE CONTEST:

The rules are simple. The potential for gain on a daily basis is astonishing. Follow the contest and you will see. Enter to win bragging rights!

So do you have a stock you think will really fly today? Post your pick before the market opens as follows:

SYMBOL - Your name, or alias - estimated float of the stock - The closing bid and ask from the previous trading session.

Any additional information on the company and why you think it will fly during the next trading session will be welcomed by all. The winning stock pick will be judged by the percentage gain over the previous days closing price. In addition we have also started a weekly stock picking contest and starting in August of 1999 we will have a monthly contest as well. Weekly picks must be in by 5:00 PM ET Sunday evening. Monthly picks must be in by 5:00PM ET the evening prior to the beginning of the month.

Weekly picks:

Monthly picks::

Caution to all investors. Expect tremendous volatility in many of the stocks discussed here. Do not invest any money you cannot afford to lose. It is not necessary that you own a stock to enter it in the contest but please follow the rules in your post.

Thank you Investor Clouseau, and everyone else who manages to contribute to making discussing our investments fun. I've lost a fortune on a number of stocks being thrown in my face tonight. I've also been able to squeeze a few profits here and there largely on stocks that are not being discussed. I'm highly bookmarked because even the losing stocks listed once ran higher. That does not mean I was selling into those runs. On the contrary I was foolish enough to continue buying. I'm a popular poster. That makes me a public target here at Silicon Investor for certain malcontents. I have learned that it's not a brilliant idea for me to state my positions with the conviction that an naive bull once did....

I lost money staying long too long.

I learned... but I never, NEVER, PUMP and DUMP anything!!!

Thanks, Jeff

>Good luck to all when they make their own personal decisions in what to invest in; nobody is holding a gun to anyone's head! (unless they knew Mark Barton!)<

LOL!!!

Lately we have all been seeing a little more red than we might like...

But Mark Barton brought a whole new meaning to the phrase.

I know some people might have a difficult time with those who find humor even in the most trying of times. To them I apologize. I do not mean to trivialize losing a loved one. I'm sure all our hearts go out to those individuals who suffered such unnecessary injury and untimely deaths. Humor to me is a simple defense mechanism I use in situations such as these. If we spend our whole lives concentrating on the misery that life can bring then we will be miserable. Humor, laughter, good friends, and caring hearts will always help. It's how we make the dark side of life, indeed even the death of a love one, more tolerable.

Thank you everyone for your participation and support of my efforts on this thread.

Jeff
