Stephen - Re: "how do you take advantage of the LCD and flash memory shortage going on?...."

Two companies that have run WAY UP are SSTI (from ~$5 to >$16) and SanDisk.

Atmel has zoomed to the mid $30s

Even lowly XICOR has climbed from< $1 to $4 or $5.

These companies all have the bulk of their business in Flash Memory or EEPROMs.

Altera uses EEPROM and/or Flash memory cells for their programmability - but they do not participate in the generic memory business. Ditto for Xilinx.

Intel should benefit - the Flash business should be profitable - but thesize of the profits will not be large compared to the CPU business - but every little penny/share will help come earnings report time. (Ditto AMD !)

I think several Japanese companies should also do well -Fujitsu, Toshiba & Hitachi - but again, these are not pure plays.
