Too much exuberance in the air???

There is a major new partner announcement every week. The market is probably going to grow faster the the traditional internet which is doubling every 100 days. Phone.com is at the center and at the moment I see no competition. Sure, they might not be the browser for all phones, but I believe their force is at the server and here they seem to be unchallanged.

Today, we see announcements from Yahoo. At first it's unclear what they are doing. At times, it is an unspoken conclusion that WAP is the foundation of almost every thing on a cell phone.

So we have the following announcements:

Adding another chip to its bet on the future of the wireless market, Internet giant Yahoo! Inc. Wednesday rolled out wireless management service Yahoo! Mobile as part of its strategy to move beyond the PC.

Yahoo! Mobile allows users to choose and send content drawn from a personalized My Yahoo! page to a user's wireless devices, using preference control settings. Yahoo! Mobile also offers news, tutorials, downloads and information specifically related to the user's wireless devices.

Yahoo! Mobile initially will only support devices running on the Palm Computing or WinCE platform, with delivery to other wireless options expected to be introduced by fourth quarter.

Sprint Wednesday unveiled wireless Internet services for its Sprint PCS wireless telephone customers.

Dubbed Sprint PCS Wireless Web, the services will be available in late September and will have three parts, according to the company. The first is wireless Internet access using specific Sprint PCS phones. Users can either access the Internet directly with the phones or use them as wireless modems and connect them to devices such as handhelds and notebook computers.

The second service is a Web browser for Sprint PCS phones developed by Phone.com. The third element is wireless updates of personalized pages from Yahoo! This information will be transmitted via Sprint's PCS Short Messaging Service.

So, what is the reason for a short? Certainly, it's not based on the real potential of this company? Maybe it's a sort of day trading technical thing. You take a short position and hope to close it in a couple hours or days. High risk poker if you ask me when the small float makes this stock jump 10 or 20 points a day.

Maybe there's a certain fact that shares will be unlocked on a certain day and we can expect employees and VC companies to sell on cue?

Or, do you in fact believe the technology is not clearly a winner?

Regards,

Mark
