I think the Whig party was what eventually developed into the Republican party. Washington warned against political parties. I think he wanted something like independent politics across the board. But people of similar thinking tend to flock together so I don't think that would be possible. But now it is to the point that the parties are so dishonest they take polls to gauge what the people want to hear and then give it to us. You know where too!!
