ANTM- WHEAT RIDGE, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 12, 1999--Antennas
America, Inc. (OTC BB:ANTM) today reported results year-to-date and
for the quarter ended June 30, 1999. Sales for the second quarter
increased 107% to $1,188,635 as compared to $573,804 for the same
period last year, and six month year-to-date sales increased to
$1,663,478 as compared to $1,416,552 for the same period last year.
The second quarter resulted in income of $5,618 as compared to a loss
of $112,033 for the same period last year and the six months ended
June 30, 1999, resulted in a loss of $85,136 as compared to a loss of
$106,169 for the same period in 1998.
Antennas America achieved a solid increase in revenues,
especially in the second quarter, due to the initial production under
the Thomson Consumer Electronics (RCA) contract and the sales of its
new local TV antennas to Jasco Products, Inc. under the GE brand name.
Purchases from its existing customers remained strong and initial
sales of the Company's new antenna for wireless internet connections
for laptop computers began in April of this year.
"Our main focus for 1999 is to increase revenues, which is
demonstrated by the 107% increase in the second quarter," stated
Randall P. Marx, Chief Executive Officer of the Company. "We are very
pleased with our results, especially given that the Company ramped up
a major production line without the influx of additional capital. We
exceeded our goals and will continue to focus on increased revenues,
Company visibility, and building our core technology."
Additionally, the Company is proud to announce that it has
reached an agreement with Dr. Mohamed Sanad to join its engineering
staff as Principal Consulting Engineer. Dr. Sanad received his Ph.D.
in 1986 and has dedicated his career to the design of small, multiband
internal integrated antennas for hand-held portable communication
equipment. Presently Dr. Sanad is the inventor of 25 antenna patents
and has written more than 50 articles related to antennas that have
been published in numerous engineering magazines. His latest article
"Compact Internal Multiband Microstrip Antennas for Portable GPS, PCS,
Cellular and Satellite Phones" has been accepted for publication by
Microwave Journal and should appear in an upcoming issue. From 1994 to
1996, Dr. Sanad was the Director of Antenna Development for Nokia
Mobile Phones and subsequently designed antennas for Nokia and others
while developing his own technology for many other wireless
applications. This new agreement with Dr. Sanad demonstrates the
Company's continued commitment to the development of unique antenna
technology for wireless communications.
